Visit These Fun Insta-worthy and Photographic Hotspots That Frame West Villages

From West Villages’ lush landscape to the community’s rich resort-style amenities, such as swimming pools, walking trails, dog parks and playgrounds, life here is picture-perfect. In fact, shutterbugs are enveloped in a paradise for Instagrammers and photographers.

West Villages poses as the perfect starting point for a day behind the lens. “For those who love nature photography,” the City of North Port’s “Backyard Photography” web page exclaims, “North Port is an oasis of opportunity.”

Oaks dripping with romantic Spanish moss; deer, butterflies and bobcats; Myakka State Park’s purple thistle, prairie iris and fields of yellow tickseed blooming in springtime—these are among the infinite wonders just a snapshot and a few minutes away from home.

Here are a few favorite hotshots’ hotspots to take your sharp eye, along with the camera that’s in your smartphone or your professional gear and powerful zoom lenses:

North Port: If a picture’s worth a thousand words, the city alone is worth your time to take thousands of photos. Within a 10-minute drive of West Villages, you’ll find myriad landscapes and landmarks. Even City Hall boasts a gorgeous courtyard, perfect for a family portrait or romantic selfies, along with a stunning view of one of the picturesque canals.

Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park: Through the heart of the city runs a path that will get you up close to primal palmettos and moss-draped oaks. Bucolic serenity amid the city’s bustle helps keep you focused on your artistic framing. Beyond the park, which is an easy 25-minute drive from West Villages, a waterway is lined with sunflowers and native birds. Don’t forget to record some videos, too.

Myakka River State Park: Virtually adjacent to West Villages’ nine stunning neighborhoods, the 8,000 primordial acres of forest, prairie and wetlands provide an idyll for Instagrammers. Riders on horseback or mountain bikes, birders tracking exotic colors on the wing and miles of nature trails offer frame after frame of fabulous photo ops.

A bit farther afield: Within a 45-minute drive  of West Villages, scenic choices are endless. An Instagramable shot awaits in Sarasota Bayfront with the 26-foot-tall statue of the World War II sailor kissing the nurse, from the famed Times Square image. In Boca Grande, beguiling banyan trees make an enviable backdrop for a family portrait on Banyan Street.

This is just a small sampling of snapshots amid the vast palette in and around West Villages. To get a full, clear picture of Life Your Way at West Villages, visit West Villages’ Model Home Centers, listed here. Or call the Home Buyers Information Line at 941-960-7805.
